GEN Lu, Kun-Xiu
Commanding General of the ROC Army

GEN Lu was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan in 1966. He commissioned as an infantry officer from the ROC Military Academy in 1988, then completed the Captains Career Course, Command and General Staff College, and War College. In addition to his diligent pursuit of military knowledge, GEN Lu also obtained an EMBA degree from National Sun Yat-sen University.
GEN Lu holds himself to high standards. He remains prudent, attentive, and values integrity as much as performance. GEN Lu commanded the 333rd Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Army Infantry Training Command, Penghu Defense Command, and the 8th Army. He also served as the Military Training Division Director at J7, MND, Chief Aide-de-Camp to the President, and Deputy Commanding General of the ROC Army.
GEN Lu upholds the principles of loyalty and faithfulness while dedicating himself to the Army’s overall planning, force building, combat readiness exercises, and attending to soldiers’ well-being. Highly recognized for his efforts, GEN Lu was appointed as the Commanding General of the ROC Army on January 16, 2025.
