Army Logistics Division was established under Army Command Headquarters’ organization structure in June 1st, 1946. However, it was impermanent suspended operation in July, 1949 due to Counter-Insurgency. In April 16th, 1950, it was Re-organized as “Fourth Department” in Feng Shan, Kao-Hsiung City. In the same year of September, it moved to Taipei City. In June 16th, 1966, it was reorganized as “Logistics General Staff of Army Command”, and migrated to Long Tan, Tao-Yuan City when “Pei-Din Exercise” taking effect in May, 1972. During the first phase of organizational restructuring (“Jingjin program”) in January 1st, 2004, Section of Construction and Maintenance was reorganized to Department of Engineering and built two new section: Logistics Management Section and Military Medical Section. During the second phase of organizational Restructuring (“Jingjin program”), it was changed title as “Division of Logistics”, and organized six functional sections: General Planning Section, Materiel Readiness Section, Logistics Management Section, Military Medical Section, Procurement Section, and Aviation and Missile Section. In Feb. 1st, 2008, Aviation and Missile Section was re-organized to Army Maintenance Command. Under organizational restructuring of“Jingtsui program”in Jan. 1st, 2013, Procurement Section and Military Medical Section were re-organized to Army Logistics Command and a new section: Integrated Logistics Section, was established. Generally, there are 4 sections in Division of Logistics: Logistics Administration Section, Materiel Readiness Section, Logistics Management Section and Integrated Logistics Section, which is in charge of policy planning of logistics business in Common logistics and Special army logistics area. The business includes quartermaster, maintenance, transportation, medical, munition, integrated logistics and procurement policy planning, logistics readiness, budgeting management and ground equipment integrated logistics planning.
Organizational Restructuring:
Since Army Logistics Command was established in Jan 1st, 2013, two of the sections, Military Medical Section and Procurement Section were re-organized to Army Logistics Command, and a new organization, Integrated Logistics Section, added. After General Planning Section being changed title to Logistics Administration Section, Logistics Division was organized as four sections: Logistics Administration Section, Materiel Readiness Section, Logistics Management Section and Integrated Logistics Section. There is no more army logistics organizational restructuring until 2015.
