GEN Chung, Shu-Ming

General Chung, Shu-Ming was born in Pingtung County, Taiwan, in 1964. General Chung was commissioned as a Field Artillery officer from the Republic of China Military Academy (ROCMA) in 1986. General Chung is a graduate of Field Artillery Captains Career Course, Army Command and General Staff College, and War College at National Defense University.
General Chung has served in a variety of key command, staff, and leadership positions from Commander of Lieyu and Guandu Regional Command, Director of Joint Operations Directive at J3, Ministry of National Defense, Deputy Commander of 3rd TO, Deputy Chief of General Staff of J7, Director of Political Affairs Office, DCGS of J3, MND, Commander of Military Police Command, Chief of Aide-de-camp to the President, Commander of 3rd TO, and Deputy Commanding General of R.O.C. Army.
General Chung has always lived up to the Army values and been dedicated to force planning, combat readiness, and unit trainings with extraordinary performance. General Chung assumed command of Republic of China Army on May 1, 2023.
